The Phrasebook (Tool)
He has the permission, not the words. Mark every line Yes, Maybe or No, and hand him a card with exactly what you want to hear.
He said yes. He just doesn't know the words.
On Wednesday, we talked to him. Today it's your turn to do something for him: hand him the material.
The Phrasebook walks you through the six rungs of the ladder, from the first look to the first order. For every line, you decide: Yes (he can say it anytime, no warning), Maybe (only in the right moment) or No (not now). Add your own lines wherever the list misses what you actually want to hear. Set a stop word. Then the tool makes his card.
Print it. Or copy it as text and send it to him. Either way, he'll hold something he never had before: proof of exactly what you want, in your own choices. No more guessing. No more being afraid of getting it wrong.
You'll be tempted to mark everything as Maybe. Don't. Maybe means he still has to read you first, and that's exactly the pressure that's been keeping him quiet. Every Yes you give him is a door he no longer has to knock on.
