Finding the words (Tool)

Most of what goes wrong early on isn't wanting the wrong things. It's saying them badly, or not at all. Two one-page worksheets for the gap between knowing what you want and being able to say it — one for the couple, one for the third man.

Two worksheets — one for the couple, one for the third man

Most of what goes wrong early on isn't wanting the wrong things. It's saying them badly, or not at all.

You know the moment. Someone asks a reasonable question — what is this, what do you want from me, where will he be while it happens — and you've got a chat window, one thumb, and something that took you years to work out about yourself. So you write a paragraph and delete it. You write a shorter one that sounds like an excuse. Eventually you send something vague and go to bed slightly annoyed with yourself.

These two sheets are for that gap. Not deciding what you want. Getting it into sentences somebody else can actually use.

One page each, fifteen minutes with a pen, and you end up with something you could send exactly as it stands.

For the third man. If a couple sent you a link this week, this one's yours. Free, no sign-up, and nothing on it commits you to anything.
